In April 2020, CareerSocius joined hands with MENDAKI Club to kickstart their flagship career convention, Re:Work, conducting two of our ResumeREADY virtual workshops for their participants.
MENDAKI Club, affiliated to Yayasan MENDAKI, is a society that aims to engage and nurture young Malay/Muslim Singaporeans to become leaders who are empowered and committed to serving the local community. Through Re:Work 2020, which comprises a series of career-related virtual workshops and webinars, MENDAKI Club aims to support graduating youths and young professionals looking to thrive in their careers and improve their employability skills.
CareerSocius recognized the importance of offering our expertise to help the community tide through the repercussions of the COVID-19 pandemic and we’ve been gearing up to digitise our workshops in light of changing needs.
Through our interactive virtual workshop, our aim was to set the youths up for success in their job search by helping them to improve their self-awareness and learn to craft an outstanding resume and cover letter. It was a challenging experience trying to engage the participants throughout the session, but we were heartened by their enthusiasm and learning attitude from the influx of questions received.
We were also glad to hear from some of the participants after the workshops, where they applied their learnings and approached us for further reviews and consultations.
Beyond equipping them with essential skills to market themselves well in the job market, we strive to bring hope and offer encouragement to the community around us, especially those that are affected by the current health and economic crisis.
We are excited to continue this meaningful partnership with MENDAKI Club in the subsequent workshops planned ahead, including interview preparation, navigating the workplace for internships, and building networking skills. The CareerSocius team looks forward to impacting more lives in 2020, through digital means or otherwise.
